๐Ÿ“– About Betloy ยท Your Bet. Your Odds. Your Choice.

A sport tech platform built in Nigeria for the world

Betloy is the utility platform from African Sporting Technology (AST). We build software that makes life easier for experienced bettors โ€” odds comparison, bet code conversion, and the embeddable widgets and APIs that put those tools inside other apps. We are a sport tech platform. We are not a bookmaker.

Betloy is a software utility company headquartered in Nigeria. We build sport-related technology for the African and global bettor โ€” specifically for experienced punters who already know what they want to back and care about getting the best return on it. Our two core products are an odds-comparison tool and a bet-code conversion utility. Both are accessible via the website, a Telegram bot, an embeddable widget, and a REST API for partners.

What we are not: we don't take bets, set odds, hold customer funds, pay out winnings, or operate a sportsbook. We are not licensed as a betting operator in any jurisdiction because our product doesn't require it โ€” we provide software tooling that sits alongside the bookmakers our users already use.

What we are

A sport tech blog and infrastructure hub

Where prediction sites speak to a bettor's instinct, Betloy speaks to their intelligence. Our users are experienced punters across Nigeria and anglophone Africa who use multiple bookmakers simultaneously, actively shop for value, understand line movement, and treat betting as a discipline rather than a pastime. They visit regularly, they spend time on the platform, and they return โ€” not for content, but because the tools solve a real problem they face on every betting day.

That's the practical bit. The bigger picture is that Betloy is part of African Sporting Technology (AST) โ€” an African sport-tech group that builds products, content and infrastructure for the continent's sports audience. Within AST, Betloy is the product play: the technical proof-of-concept that informs how the group thinks about long-term sports-data infrastructure for Africa.

Products

What we ship

Two core utilities and the surfaces they ride on:

  • Odds Scanner โ€” compare prices on the same selection across 100+ indexed bookmakers
  • Bet Code Converter โ€” convert any booking code between any two of those 100+ bookmakers in under three seconds
  • AI Bet Analyzer, Risk Trimmer, Bet Editor, Bet Viewer โ€” adjacent utilities that read public booking codes and surface useful information about them
  • Telegram Bot โ€” same utilities, accessed inside Telegram
  • Embeddable Widget โ€” drop the converter or the odds scanner into any partner site with a snippet of HTML
  • REST API โ€” programmatic access for partners and integrators

The widget and API are how AST monetises Betloy as B2B infrastructure โ€” Telegram tipster channels, prediction sites, and third-party apps license the tools and serve them to their own audiences. See /api/ and /widget/ for licensing details.

What we believe

Five principles that shape every product decision we make.

๐ŸŽฏ

Transparency over predictions

We don't post tips, picks, or "expert predictions" โ€” those are someone else's business. We earn user trust by showing the numbers and letting them decide. Our published conversion success rate, our methodology, our affiliate disclosures โ€” all open.

๐Ÿงฐ

Tools, not gambling content

We build software utilities. We don't run a sportsbook, accept stakes, hold funds, settle bets, or process winnings. The decision to bet โ€” and where, and how much โ€” sits entirely with the user.

๐ŸŒ

African-first, not African-only

We started by indexing the bookmakers our users in Nigeria actually use, then expanded to anglophone Africa, then to the international and crypto-first sportsbooks our African users also reach for.

๐Ÿ“ฑ

Mobile-first, network-tolerant

Most of our users are on 3G connections in less-covered areas. Pages have to render fast, the converter has to work over flaky networks, the Telegram bot has to handle dropped messages gracefully. We test on the slowest connections, not the fastest.

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ

Responsible by default

Every page carries 18+ messaging and links to help resources. We don't push punters to bet more, we don't run "chase your loss" promotional content, and we don't have a "VIP" tier that incentivises bigger stakes.

๐Ÿ’ผ

Disclosed, not hidden

Where we have an affiliate relationship with a bookmaker, the outbound link carries rel="sponsored" per Google's guidelines. Where we run a sponsored blog post, it's tagged #Sponsored openly. Our editorial rankings are not for sale.

Our parent group

African Sporting Technology (AST)

Betloy is one of several brands operated by African Sporting Technology โ€” a Nigerian sport-tech group that builds products, content, and infrastructure for African sports audiences. Within AST, Betloy plays the utility / platform role: the bridge between AST as a publisher and AST as a sports-data business. Other AST brands focus on content, prediction and editorial; Betloy focuses on tooling and infrastructure.

AST is headquartered in Nigeria. The team operates from Nigeria. The legal entity, the engineering team, and the editorial team are all in Nigeria.

Team

Who you'll talk to

Betloy is a small, focused team operating from Nigeria. Every customer-facing email, every blog article, every line of code is written by someone you can reach. We don't outsource our editorial, and we don't have a customer-support BPO.

For all enquiries, see the contact page for the right inbox to use.

About Betloy FAQs

Quick answers about the company.

Where is Betloy based?
Nigeria ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฌ. The legal entity, engineering team, editorial team and all operations are in Nigeria. We don't have offices, staff or operations anywhere else.
Is Betloy a bookmaker or a sportsbook?
No. Betloy is a sport tech platform โ€” software utilities that help bettors compare odds and convert booking codes between the bookmakers they already use. We don't take bets, set odds, hold customer funds, pay out winnings, or settle wagers. The actual betting always happens on the third-party bookmaker's own platform under that bookmaker's terms.
What's African Sporting Technology (AST)?
AST is the parent group Betloy belongs to โ€” a Nigerian sport-tech company that builds products, content and infrastructure for African sports audiences. Betloy is AST's utility / platform brand; other AST brands focus on content and editorial.
Does Betloy need a gambling licence?
No โ€” we are a software utility, not a betting operator. We don't accept stakes or hold customer funds, so the operator-licensing regimes (NLRC in Nigeria, BCLB in Kenya, WCGRB in South Africa, etc.) don't apply to us. Where local rules require affiliate-marketer registration, we register accordingly.
How does Betloy make money?
Three streams: (1) Widget and API licensing โ€” Telegram tipster channels, prediction sites and third-party apps pay monthly to embed Betloy's tools in their own products; (2) programmatic ad inventory on the website (always disclosed); (3) affiliate referrals when a user signs up to a bookmaker through one of our links (always flagged with rel="sponsored").
Can my bookmaker pay to be ranked higher in your Top Betting Sites?
No. Ranking position is determined by published methodology โ€” see the Top Betting Sites hub. Where we have an affiliate relationship, the outbound link is flagged with rel="sponsored", but ranking position is not for sale.
Who is Betloy for?
Experienced, frequent bettors across Nigeria and anglophone Africa who use multiple bookmakers simultaneously and actively shop for value. Our users are technically comfortable, data-aware, and sceptical of guesswork โ€” they earn the right answers from numbers, not predictions.
Is Betloy hiring?
We hire opportunistically. If you're an engineer with experience scaling on African networks, an editorial writer with a deep sports-betting background, or a partnerships lead with operator relationships, send a CV to hello@betloy.com. All roles are Nigeria-based.
How do I report a bug or request a new bookmaker?
Bugs to support@betloy.com. New bookmaker requests via the request links on our All Betting Sites A-Z directory.
How do I license the Betloy widget or API?
Email partners@betloy.com. The widget integration takes under 30 minutes; API integration is one to three days for a basic flow. Pricing scales with usage volume.
